“Grow old with me the best is yet to be…” We were not at the old stage but looking forward to more years of the best before we grew old together… until Stage III Esophageal cancer nixed the grow old with me part.
CANCER DID NOT ALLOW US TO DICTATE OUR FUTURE. WITH GOD’S HELP, WE CHOSE HOW TO FACE IT WHEN WE CARRIED ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS SO FULFILLING THE LAW OF CHRIST” Galatians 6
Our love grew as did our trust in God, who was our strength and refuge when cancer tested our courage and faith.
“THE LAST OF LIFE- FOR WHICH THE FIRST WAS MADE, OUR TIMES WERE IN HIS HANDS”
When diagnosis terminal was the reality and living the goal, we wiped our tears, smiled, toasted the life we had, and chose to live exceedingly abundantly.
AND RETURNED HOME FOR OUR SON’S WEDDING, KISSES, HUGS AND BELLS RANG. SUNSHINE BLESSED THE DAY
MY LIFE-LONG ATHLETE HUSBAND WEIGHED 98 POUNDS. BUT,
HE SMILED WITH HIS SON
I SMILED WHEN HE SAID, “I THINK IT’S TIME I ASKED MY WIFE TO DANCE.”
HE TOOK MY HAND AND PUT HIS ARM AROUND MY WAIST, AND ALONE ON THE DANCE FLOOR, WE DANCED TO, AUTUMN LEAVES. IT WOULD BE OUR LAST.
LIFE LESSONS WHEN CANCER TESTED OUR COURAGE AND FAITH.
IT’S MY STORY, IT’S HIS STORY, IT’S OUR STORY. IT’S A LOVE STORY REALLY.
